Maharashtra rules for staff transport in Mumbai

Rule 13 of the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments Rules, 2018 allows women to work between 9:30 pm and 7 am with their consent. The employer must provide safe, separate transport up to the doorstep.
Night workers need police verification. Where ten or more women work at night, women security guards are required and helpline numbers must be displayed.
A 2025 amendment to the rules is reported to add home pickup and drop, CCTV recording kept for 45 days, and at least two women on duty. Confirm the current conditions with your compliance team.
Maharashtra has tightened rules for app-based taxis and driver details. For staff transport, use commercially registered cabs with valid permits and AIS-140 GPS.

Read every quote in hours as well as km. Waiting time between meetings and peak-hour crawl will shape the bill more than distance.
